2025 MFD preview - Finn Harps

Finn Harps come into 2025 after a campaign last season where they showed glimpses of promises but ultimately fell short of where they want to be.

The Donegal outfit will hope that new signings and more stability under a second year with Darren Murphy should give Harps hope for a big year ahead and a push for promotion.

Bringing in young strikers Gavin Hodgins and Dara McGuinness who are both hungry to succeed in the goal scoring charts will likely give Harps an exciting edge this year.

The arrival too on loan of highly rated midfielder Anto Dodd from St. Pat’s adds another bit of quality to the squad ahead of the new season.

These additions come on the back of the return of Mikey Place too who has shown previously what he is capable of at this level.

The renewed attacking power should add to some of the core names kept at the Club including young goalkeeper Oisin Cooney who impressed last year too.

With Tony McNamee and co holding strong in the midfield, Finn Harps will be hoping they can make a serious push for the Play-Offs in 2025 with half an eye on the table too in a much changed SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division.

With Cobh Ramblers, Athlone Town and Dundalk all looking strong so far, Harps will be hoping they can spring a surprise from up north.

They do so with a strong base in Finn Park where the partisan Donegal crowd always give Harps an extra edge and 2025 should be no different.
