Bohemians go into this 2026 season with high hopes of getting closer to the top of the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division table and being in the title hunt for first time in the club’s history.
The team made history last season by reaching the Final of two competitions for the first time – Women’s FAI Cup Final and the Women’s All-Island Cup Final. While they fell short in both, it only gives them more motivation to go one step further this year.
Former League of Ireland midfielder Alan Murphy, who has been in the Assistant Coach role since 2024, has stepped in to lead the team for the first time following Alban Hysa’s departure.
Murphy has had a strong start as manager by introducing some new faces and welcoming back some familiar ones to the squad. These includes new signings Aoife Brophy, Eimear Lafferty and Aoife Sheridan, who are accompanied by two returning players Sophie Clarke and Ciara Maher.
Bohs have been busy in their off-season and have set the tone for the team going forward in the 2026 season, with a pre-season friendly finishing 1-1 against Peamount United and a 4-2 win away from home against Cliftonville with the goals coming from Aoibhe Brennan, Katie Malone, Alex Devoy and Alannah McEvoy.
Dublin’s Originals will face Peamount United away in Greenogue Park on Saturday, March 14th, for their first SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division game where they hope to start the season right with getting three points on the table.
Bohs are looking to make a change this season and hope last year’s results gives them the determination they need to do so.
