Eight changes in total for the visit of Waterford, and the Bohs young guns more than held their own in a gritty 0-0 at a chilly Dalymount Park. One of which was the inclusion of Robbie McCourt for Keith Buckley.
“Tough game tonight, against a quality side” he said. “We know Waterford are an experienced side, they keep the ball well and are pacey up top but to the lads credit, we stuck in and I feel we more than held our own I think.
"You have to remember were a new, young team out there tonight and some of us are still trying to get used to each other. It’s another clean sheet, thought we were better in the second half.”
Bohs stopper James Talbot only enhanced his reputation with two excellent first half stops and the midfielder was quick to praise his number one, saying: “Yeah they were class saves and kept it at 0-0 but it’s what you come to expect almost, he’s that good.
"Overall, I think were a little disappointed we didn’t create more but we tried to use our fast players with Ryan Graydon, Ali Reghba and Ryan Swan to hit Waterford on the break down the channels and thought we got better as the game went on.”
And the ex-West Brom man spoke of his enjoyment at the club and how things are going in his first season. “I’m loving being back if I’m honest. Really enjoying trying to get up to speed but so far so good.
"Everyone is starting to gel a lot more now and it’s a great dressing room. I think it shows that if its going right in there, than it will go well out there on the pitch. And we’re well capable of being up there with the best and have been showing it the last few weeks.
"Going away to Dundalk and being unlucky to lose, going away to Rovers and winning, these are top teams and we’re going out with no fear and putting in performances so the aim is to just win as many games as possible and see were it takes us.”
