Off the Ball and LOI agree increased national radio coverage ahead of 2026 season
The League of Ireland and Off the Ball are delighted to announce a new three-year agreement bringing the number of live national radio commentary games to 33 across the new 2026 SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division.
After an exciting first year on Newstalk and Off the Ball, the new agreement brings even more national radio coverage than ever before for the League of Ireland along with enhanced coverage through the LOI Late Night Show on X spaces and The LOI Podcast free to air each match week.
Alongside the live League of Ireland match nights, Off the Ball will also broadcast fixtures from the 2026 Men’s and Women’s FAI Cups.
The new season begins on Friday, February 6 when defending Champions Shamrock Rovers begin their title defence at home to Dundalk with Off the Ball reporting live from Tallaght Stadium.
Off the Ball, Managing Director, Ger Gilroy: ""This new deal cements Off The Ball's place as the home of football in Ireland. Over the last year we brought to life all the storylines, on and off the field, with our brilliant network of analysts, reporters, commentators and feature interviews with all the main protagonists. We can't wait for the new season to kick off again, and we're thrilled to be expanding our coverage. OTB has always done its best work in long term partnerships, and the next three years will see key developments in football in Ireland - our listeners will be embedded in the game"
League of Ireland, Director, Mark Scanlon, said: ““We’re delighted to bring further coverage for the League of Ireland through this expanded agreement with Off the Ball. The coverage across Newstalk and the Off the Ball app last season brought a whole new layer of LOI coverage for supporters every week and we’re excited to see this develop even more in 2026. Alongside Virgin Media Television and LOITV, Off the Ball have brought great insight and excitement for supporters through the whole of last season and this agreement ensures the League of Ireland will reach even more people in 2026.”
