With the likes of Eoghan Stokes (21), Danny Grant (18) and Dylan Watts (20) buzzing around him, Dinny Corcoran is starting to feel his age.

His next birthday will be his 30th and he is relishing having such young, energetic and creative legs around him to make his job easier. The goalscorer is still waiting for his campaign to get up and running but was relieved to finally see Bohemians string two wins together at Bray Wanderers' expense on Friday evening.

"It's great playing with the lads! They're so eager and you can see it every day in training that they're improving. They're the energy and the legs and I'm just there to put it in the net! They're good lads.

"It's been a frustrating season for me so far because it's been stop-start with injuries. I need to get my fitness as good as I can but I'll be looking to kick on now and get as many goals as I can to help the team.

"Keith (Long) said it to us beforehand that we hadn't managed to win back-to-back yet so that was the aim on Friday - it wasn't a great performance but it was all about the result and it's given us a bit of breathing space."

Bohemians have distanced themselves somewhat from the bottom three and the aim now is to start clawing in the sides ahead of them.

"We want to stay away from the bottom but we think we're good enough to push on. Last season we finished fifth and it was late on that we started picking up points so that could happen again because we definitely have the team for it. We just have to keep improving and pick up as many points as we can and see where it takes us.

"It's just unlucky. Our performances have been good. If you look at the Waterford game, we outplayed them but they took their chance and we lose the game. Performances have been decent. We are inconsistent but it's results that matter and we'll take a scrappy performance and a good win any day.

"We'd like to push for fifth again. The top two looks like Dundalk and Cork again who could pull away maybe, Waterford and Derry look strong, Rovers (as well). We could fight with Rovers and Pat's maybe for fifth or sixth and that'd be a good season."

And the countdown has already began for Corcoran ahead of the next Dublin Derby on May 25th.

"They're always good! I think we've beaten them now three-in-a-row so they'll be gunning for us but it's in Dalymount so we'll be looking forward to it."
