The 2025 SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division Awards took place in the Alex Hotel, Dublin with Kelly Brady claiming the Player of the Year prize following a double-winning season with Athlone Town.
Brady finished her debut season in the league by winning the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division, Sports Direct Women’s FAI Cup and SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division Golden Boot Award for top goalscorer. She added to that haul by collecting the Player of the Year Award.
The other players nominated included Athlone Town trio Madison Gibson, Roisin Molloy and Hannah Waesch, Treaty United attacker Isabella Flocchini and Wexford’s Ellen Molloy.
The SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division Young Player of the Year Award went to Treaty United midfielder Madison McGuane, who finished her debut season at senior level with five goals. The Limerick native was voted ahead of Aoibhe Brennan (Bohemians), Ellen Dolan, Mary Phillips (Peamount United), Ella Kelly (Shamrock Rovers) and Bonnie McKiernan (Sligo Rovers).
The SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division Team of the Year was made up of players from Athlone Town (6), Bohemians (1), Shamrock Rovers (1), Shelbourne (1), Treaty United (1) and Wexford (1). The team included: Megan Plaschko (Athlone Town), Roisin McGovern (Bohemians), Kayleigh Shine (Athlone Town), Maria Reynolds (Shamrock Rovers), Roisin Molloy (Athlone Town), Hannah Waesch (Athlone Town), Ellen Molloy (Wexford), Isabella Flocchini (Treaty United), Madison Gibson (Athlone Town), Mackenzie Anthony (Shelbourne), Kelly Brady (Athlone Town).
Bohemians’ Alban Hysa won the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division Manager of the Year after leading his team to the Sports Direct Women’s FAI Cup Final and the All-Island Cup Final. Hysa was selected ahead of Colin Fortune (Athlone Town) and Sean Russell (Treaty United).
Shelbourne forward Kate Mooney scooped the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division Goal of the Year for her strike against Peamount United and her team-mate Amanda McQuillan claimed the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division Golden Gloves Award after recording eight clean sheets.
The two winners from the EA SPORTS LOI Academy were Athlone Town's Lucy Fitzgerald and Shamrock Rovers' Hailey Twomey who won the Under-19 and Under-17 Player of the Year Awards respectively.
There were three worthy recipients of the Services to Women’s Football Award in Paula Brady, Denis Commins and John Flood. Former match official Paula Brady was referee for three Sports Direct Women’s FAI Cup Finals, involved in the league from its inaugural season and now plays a key role in the development of female referees. Denis Commins is a founding member of Peamount United and has been a hugely influential figure behind the scenes at the club. Similar can be said at Wexford about John Flood who has served as manager, coach, administrator, volunteer and various other roles through the years.
