WYLDE appointed as Official Esports & Gaming Partner of the League of Ireland

The League of Ireland and WYLDE have announced a multi-year partnership, that sees WYLDE become the official esports and gaming partner of the League of Ireland. This collaboration connects the traditional world of football with the fast-growing world of gaming and esports, creating new pathways for Irish players to represent their Clubs and their country on the international stage.

Under the agreement, WYLDE will deliver Ireland’s national football esports competitions including the ELOI. These high profile and popular events form the cornerstone of the Irish esports ecosystem and are designed to bring players from grassroots competition all the way to the eChampions League and the Esports World Cup, the pinnacle of global esports competition.

The ELOI, scheduled to be held in March 2026, will feature Ireland’s top players competing to win the national championship. The winner will go on to represent Ireland internationally, carrying the flag of their country as well as the crest of their Club. The EFAI Cup, scheduled for later this year, is designed for players aged 18 and under, will act as a youth-focused development platform.

This partnership reflects the shared vision of both organisations - to grow participation, create opportunity, and inspire Irish talent at every level. WYLDE, founded in 2021, has championed grassroots development in esports and opened Ireland’s first dedicated National Esports Centre, a space built to help players train, connect, and prepare for competition.

Mark Scanlon, League of Ireland Director, said: “The League of Ireland is delighted to announce WYLDE as our esports and gaming partner. This collaboration enables us to engage with a new generation of players and fans while strengthening the close connection between football and esports. WYLDE’s expertise and commitment to developing esports talent make them the perfect partner to grow this space.”

Steve Daly, CEO of WYLDE, said: “This partnership unites two passions that define a generation - football and gaming. Together with the League of Ireland, we’re building a national structure that allows any player, from any background, to turn their love of the game into opportunity and achievement.”

By joining forces, the League of Ireland and WYLDE are setting the stage for the next generation of Irish esports talent, creating opportunities, inspiring participation, and building pride across both football and gaming communities nationwide.
