The nominations for the SSE Airtricity/SWAI Player of the Month for May have been announced. SSE Airtricity League leaders Cork City have two players nominated for the award and Derry City also have two nominations. Trevor Clarke and Darragh Markey
The nominations for the SSE Airtricity/SWAI Player of the Month for May have been announced.
SSE Airtricity League leaders Cork City have two players nominated for the award and Derry City also have two nominations. Trevor Clarke and Darragh Markey from Shamrock Rovers and St. Patrick's Athletic respectively have also been recognised for outstanding performances during the month of May.
May Player of the Month nominations
Ryan Delaney (Cork City): Rock solid at the heart of the defence and proved a threat in the other box by chipping in with three goals.
Sean Maguire (Cork City): Four goals for the league's top scorer, his all round play as a lone striker is continually impressive.
Aaron Barry (Derry City): Solid and dependable at the heart of a defence which kept four clean sheets as they went unbeaten.
Aaron McEneff (Derry City): Coming to the fore in midfield and added goals to his game with three in four appearances.
Trevor Clarke (Shamrock Rovers): Two superb goals and a constant threat on the wing.
Darragh Markey (St Patrick's Athletic): Established himself in a Pats side which has been struggling but the creative midfielder has been their standout performer.
The winner will be announced on Friday.
