Does the win over Shamrock Rovers mean more than the one over Waterford?  Not if you are Patrick McEleney and his Dundalk players as another three points on the board were claimed on Monday night against the Blues. “It’s still the same three points,” explained McEleney who put in an excellent display against Waterford.  “You just have to come and win these games and you are getting closer and closer, we will just try and keep ticking them off.” Friday night sees McEleney travel ‘home’ for a match as he takes on his hometown club Derry City.  The Derry native lived not too far from the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium and the midfielder is fully away of the tough task that lays ahead.  “It’s going to be another tough game, we will get ourselves back in and get ready for Friday, as I said its the same three points whoever we play and we will be ready.” With Vinny Perth using the full Dundalk panel to his disposal McEleney is full of praise of the quality of players that share the dressing room with him.  “I’m not sure, but to be honest whoever comes everybody is the same, I’m sure everyone has seen that whoever comes in is doing the right thing and we will be ready.” Robbie Benson and Jamie McGrath have made returns to the playing pitch in recent weeks - a crucial time for Dundalk and the timing couldn’t be better.  “There is competition all over the pitch and whoever comes in is ready and fit and its load of competition so it's great for us."
