For the teams finishing 2nd to 5th in the SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division, there is a knock‑out Play-Off tournament to determine which side advances to face the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division’s 9th placed team.
SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division Play-Off Semi-Finals (two‐legged, home & away)
- 2nd place vs 5th place
- 3rd place vs 4th place
- The winners on aggregate advance
- First legs to take place on Friday, October 24 and Tuesday, October 28
SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division Play-Off Final
- The two semi‑final winners face off at a neutral venue to be decided depending on participating teams on Sunday, November 2
SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division Promotion/Relegation Play-Off
- The winner of the SSE Airtricity Men's First Division Play-Off Final then faces the 9th‑placed SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division team in a one‑legged Play-Off on Friday, November 7 at a neutral venue to be decided
Cobh Ramblers, Bray Wanderers and UCD have already confirmed their places in the 2025 Play-Offs while Wexford and Treaty United face off on the Final night with Wexford just one point behind Treaty United.
With Cork City already relegated to the SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division, the battle remains too close to call for Sligo Rovers, Waterford and Galway United to stay out of the Play-Off.
