Cabinteely scored their first goals and picked up their first points of the 2017 SSE Airtricity League Season on Friday night.

The home side dominated the early stages of the match. And their pressure told when Doyle finished from the Karl Byrne cross after only three minutes.

Wexford began to put some passages of play together. Adam Hanlon smashed an effort off the crossbar, before Craig Hayes's effort from the edge of the box, went wide to the left of Kelly's goal.

Doyle doubled the home side's lead after being set up by Marty Waters's header on. He had to beat a defender, before bundling an effort over the line. The second-half saw few clear cut chances, but an undoubted highlight was Marty Waters's attempt to embarrass Graham Doyle with a shot from 45 yards. His effort went just wide to the right.

And in truth, Wexford rarely threatened, and the result was a fair one.
