How crucial will these three points be at the end of the season? It's moments like this that can make or break a season and for Vinny Perth and Dundalk, it seems the luck is finally turning around as the last gasp penalty from Patrick Hoban gave Dundalk a much-needed victory in Oriel Park.

In a game that could have gone either way and in truth both sides would have laid claim to the fact they deserved the three points, while chances were plenty, few were clear cut to win the game.

The return of both Chris Shields and Patrick McEleney will come as a welcome boost, in truth the goal was an even bigger one. Dundalk and Bohemians look like they had knocked themselves out in an honours even match.

A class of similar football ideologies was on show and neither side gave an inch in what was a game filled with tension and neverousness. Danny Mandriou the talented Bohemians winger poised the most threats from set pieces and on another night he could have bagged a hat trick from set pieces.

Michael Duffy, while worked hard, was denied by Talbot at every turn. In the end, a last-ditch run by Sean Gannon saw him chopped down in the penalty area and Thomas Connolly had a massive call to make. He made it and Hoban did his part. Three points and the roof of Oriel's old stand nearly blew off.
