Shamrock Rovers impressive run in the SSE Airtricity League continued with a comprehensive 4-1 win over Finn Harps at the Tallaght Stadium.

The Hoops dominated from start to finish and goals from Gary Shaw, Brandon Miele and a James Doona brace late on delivered Rovers’ fourth successive Premier Division victory. In the 27th minute, Madden found Cameron Smith on the left edge of the Harps penalty area.

Smith’s low centre was turned-in from close range by the returning Gary Shaw. Brandon Miele wrapped matters up just after half time with a sublime dead ball execution. Trevor Clarke was fouled 22 yards out and Miele’s strike flew into the top left corner.

The icing on the cake arrived in the last quarter. First Cameron Smith profited from some slack defensive play to square the ball to substitute Doona for a simple 69th minute finish. Doona found plenty of space in the box again seven minutes later and slotted home fellow substitute Ryan Connolly’s low cross from the right.

It might have been more as Shaw and Miele both struck the right hand upright within five first half minutes. Paddy McCourt and Eddie Dsane displayed some nice touches for Finn Harps but the injury hit Donegal side were well beaten on the night. BJ Banda’s well taken late left footed strike was but a small consolation.
