Shelbourne and UCD played out an entertaining 1-1 draw at Tolka Park, a result that is of little benefit to either team.

Midway through the half, the former Cork City player David O’Leary set Adam Evans away down the left wing. Evans crossed low into the box. Chris Lyons capitalised on hesitancy in the UCD defence to stab the ball over the line from point blank range.

Shels pressing game dominated from there to half time but UCD upped the ante after the break. The Students equalised on 61 minutes. Cian Kavanagh chipped the ball in and Kelly's deft back header just eluded Delany's dive.

Both sides had chances to win it from there. Shels will probably feel more aggrieved. Sub English set-up Adams late on but the No. 7 couldn’t force the ball home. English himself was foiled by a brilliant block from Liam Scales.

However, Kelly was also through one on one with Delany but the Shels keeper got down well to save at the expense of a corner. UCD could have gone temporarily ahead of Cobh Ramblers on goal difference with a win but stay third.
