Shamrock Rovers won the EA SPORTS League of Ireland Women's Under-17 Cup for the second year in a row following a 1-0 victory over Cork City in Athlone Town Stadium.
The Hoops were victorious in the same venue last year - when they beat Athlone Town - and they did enough to retain the trophy against a well-organised Cork City side.
Alice Buggle broke the deadlock after 15 minutes when she was in the right place to convert when Cork goalkeeper Amy Dalton failed to gather a cross from the left wing.
Captain Mia Murtagh struck the crossbar with an effort and Sophie Byrne went close with a snap shot as Rovers finished the first half on top.
The tempo increased in the second period as Cork City chased an equaliser and they pushed Rovers back inside their own half with some excellent attacking play, but the final pass never enabled them to truly trouble goalkeeper Sarah Doyle.
At the other end, Dalton had to be on full alert to stop Sophie Clarke from increasing the lead for Rovers and there were half chances for substitutes Mia Gaff and Sarah Reynolds.
Cork rallied all the way to the end but Rovers defended well to secure the win thanks to a single goal from EA SPORTS Player of the Match Buggle.
