As SSE Airtricity League clubs prepare to return to action in empty stadia next month, one Premier Division side are giving fans the opportunity to learn about the history of their club from home.

Sligo Rovers' Outdoor Museum is one of the first things fans see when the enter The Showgrounds, and the club have made sure those far and wide can do so now from the comfort of their own home.

Created by the Sligo Rovers Heritage Group, the club says; "the museum consists of 100 panels erected at various locations throughout the ground, featuring legendary players, managers, club volunteers and famous supporters."

Famous players and fans from Sligo and further afield now adorn the walls of The Showgrounds, including Dixie Dean, Tony Fagan, Raf Cretaro and Joseph N'Do.

Paul 'Ski' McGee and Seamus Coleman both began their careers at the club, before going on to represent their country. The duo also feature as part of the museum.

Funded by the EU Peace IV programme, the intention is to add to the museum, before the club's Centenary year in 2028.
