St. Patrick’s Athletic boss Liam Buckley was understandably pleased having seen his side brush Derry City aside with a comprehensive 5-2 win at Richmond Park on Friday evening, even despite falling behind twice in the first half.  Derry went ahead with barely five minutes played and then again before the first-half was at its halfway point, but Saints showed determination and raced back to draw level twice, before completely taking control before half-time and into the second half. “Overall I think we deserved the win,” Buckley told reporters after the game.  “We created a good number of chances and managed to take five of them so in all it was definitely a good performance.” From the moment Saints drew level at 2-2, there was little doubt about who would end the night on top and Buckley expressed his belief that the sense of momentum definitely helped his side go on to take the lead and subsequently control of the whole game. “There was a bit of momentum there alright,” he added. “I did feel that we were going to get on top but even then you still have to put the ball in the net. “We had a penalty and that but, for example, Darragh [Markey]’s  goal was fantastic and we had a number of other chances as well so I don’t think we can complain.” What is perhaps most remarkable about the game is that each of the seven goals were scored by different players and Buckley was obviously pleased to see so many of his players chip in, and not only with finishing off the chances.  “Look at the overall performance of the lads and how hard they’ve all worked, I’m just delighted for them.  “It sets a bit of a benchmark for us now and we need to stick at that level and if we can do that for the next few weeks or even months then we’ll see how far we can go.”
