What's at stake on The Final Day in the League of Ireland

The Final Day has arrived in the SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division after an epic race across 35 rounds so far and there's something on every game.

Here's the state of play in each fixture.

Cork City v Derry City (16:30 live on LOITV)

Cork City are already relegated but barring The Rebel Army winning the Sports Direct Men’s FAI Cup, Derry City will want to finish second for a possible Europa League spot which will be secured with Shamrock Rovers Cup win next Sunday. The Candystripes will need a win here and will hope to finish on a high after beating Shamrock Rovers last week.

Drogheda United v Bohemians (16:30 live on Virgin Media One)

It’s all on the line in Sullivan and Lambe Park live on Virgin Media One.

Drogheda United have kept themselves in the European race but a poorer goal difference means they will need a win over Bohemians who will also need a result to get into a potential final European spot in fourth - which only comes into play of course with a Shamrock Rovers Cup win.

A draw here will need Bohemians relying on a win for Shelbourne over St. Patrick’s Athletic to jump ahead of the Saints.

Shamrock Rovers v Sligo Rovers (16:30 live on LOITV)

It’s a big day for the Champions at Tallaght who are home and hosed but Stephen Bradley’s side will hope to get through Sligo Rovers without any injuries ahead of the Sports Direct Men’s FAI Cup Final but will want to pick up a win along with the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division trophy.

There’s far more jeopardy for Sligo Rovers who may need a result in Tallaght depending on how Waterford and Galway United fair in the RSC. A draw there and Sligo Rovers will need points away to the Champions.

Shelbourne v St. Patrick’s Athletic (16:30 live on LOITV)

Always special, this Dublin Derby will be one of the hottest tickets in Dublin as the Saints need a win to guarantee a chance of European football next year away to one of their fiercest rivals.

Shels are on the continent again next year but a slip up by Derry City could see them jump into second so the Reds will look for their sixth win in a row in what has been a superb end to the season for Joey O’Brien’s men.

Waterford v Galway United (16:30 live on LOITV)

Galway United currently have it most in their hands as a draw at the RSC will be good enough for them secure safety and a draw in Waterford will see both safe if Shamrock Rovers beat Sligo Rovers.

However, if The Bit O’Red can get a result in Tallaght all bets are off and we could see a frantic finale at the RSC where Waterford will need a win.
