Bohemians smashed their all-time record league victory as they stuck ten past relegation threatened UCD at Dalymount Park, with new front man Andre Wright getting his first goal for the club.

The ex-West Brom striker helped himself to four goals on the night, beating fellow forward Danny Mandroiu, who netted a hat-trick himself, to the match ball, and was over joyed to finally get off the mark for his new club.

“I’m sure nobody expected that result, but it was just one of those games that everything just went our way and I’m delighted to score and help the team. It’s the first time in senior football I’ve scored four and honestly couldn’t have done it at a better club. So couldn’t be happier.”

Having had spells at Coventry, Kidderminster and Torquay United amongst others, the 22-year-old front man had nothing but praise for his time so far with the Gypsies and his new surroundings, adding: “I’ve loved it so far, the lads have been great to be fair, it’s going really well. The manager and staff have been amazing to me and everyone has welcomed me with open arms. The fans here are incredible, the atmosphere is unbelievable here. That’s my second home game now and they really get behind the team and sometimes that can make all the difference.”

Not content with his four-goal haul, “Dre” feels there is a lot more to come from himself and this is just the start, which could spell danger for opposition as his side maintains their quest for European football.

“I’m always trying to improve, whether that’s adding more goals to tonight and getting five or six, working harder or whatever but there’s always room to improve, you always want more. But as my fitness levels improve, I can perform at a better level, getting sharper and more importantly help the team. But I’ll keep working hard and see were it takes us.”

Bohs, full of confidence from two incredible Dublin Derby wins in a row, have a quick turn around as they make the trip to reigning Champions Dundalk in the EA Sports Cup semi-final on Monday evening, in what promises to be a mouth watering clash
