Chorus after chorus of his song rang around the sold-out Dalymount Park as the Gypsies talisman fired his side top of the SSE Airtricity League with a calmly-taken penalty in yet another enthralling Dublin Derby.  Dinny Corcoran bagged his 51st goal for Bohemians in a tight full-blooded game and was chuffed to get out of it with the three points. "It was great to get the win, they’re always tense tight affairs and its all about the result really. Thankfully we did that, got another clean sheet and personally delighted to get three goals for myself so far this season so we’ll look to continue this Friday.”  The game itself ebbed and flowed at times, a lot more football being played but the sending off for Aaron Greene certainly opened the game for both sides, and the big number nine agreed, going on to add: “Yeah at times it was a bit more free flowing, usually it’s a bit more punt the ball but certainly when they went down to 10, we had bit more time on the ball and it was hard to break them down. They did well getting everyone behind the ball, but luckily (Keith) “Wardy” popped up with a bit of magic and I slotted the peno home. It was more about the result than the performance.”  Standing tall, looking down at the ball on the penalty spot, which can seem an eternity, and having the Shamrock Rovers fans just yards away trying to put you off by any means necessary can be a daunting task to say the least, but luckily for the Bohs players and fans the right man kept a cool head to slide the ball into the bottom right hand corner. The 30 year old went on to describe what was going through his head at that crucial moment, “I just had to try keep my focus really, they were shining lasers in my eyes aswell. Just as I was placing the ball, I just noticed green things going across my face, kind of surprised me obviously but I was always going there. I just said if it goes in it goes in and thankfully it did so I was delighted!”  A combination of a good solid preseason and the extra competition up front could be down to Dinny’s flying start to the season, but he is relishing the challenge. “I stuck to my off season programme, worked really hard in pre-season and finished the season strong last year so I was confident coming into this season, but yeah Ali (Reghba) was over at Leicester in the off-season and did really well, Sam Byrne has come in from Dundalk and is really good and (Ryan) Swanny missed all of last season so he’s like a new signing for us so its great to have plenty of options and personally good to have that competition and keep you on your toes. I’ve had a good start so long may it last.”  And the boisterous home fans will also be hoping it continues as they take on Waterford this Friday looking to maintain their 100% start to the new season.
