Following his sides hard fought point away at Dalymount park, ex-Bohs midfielder and fan favorite, Keith Buckley spoke about the battle on his old turf, as well as his new role in a Bray Wanderers side chasing Europe.

On the game itself, Buckley, struggling to control the swelling under his left eye following a collision with Paddy Kavanagh, said, “Yeah it was a tough one tonight, very physical and both teams didn’t want to give an inch. In all honesty, there wasn’t much football played, it was very stop start and neither team got into too much of a rhythm.

“I thought we did well in the first half though, maybe shaded it and felt like we had more possession but just couldn’t get the breakthrough.”

The game itself, albeit wasn’t a dirty game by any means, with only three yellow cards in the whole game (all the hosts) but it was the visitors, Bray, who had a few walking wounded come full time.

Giving an assessment, the Dublin native went onto say; “I though it was a bit scrappy out there, as you can seen from my eye, I think John Sullivan has a broken nose and Conor Kenna had a black eye too, but these things happen when we’re battling for really vital points.

“I think both teams will feel it in the morning and I think a draw was a fair result in the end.”

Buckley gained almost hero status in Phibsboro for Bohs as a combative and energetic midfielder but has been deployed at right back in Harry Kenny’s side this season. And Buckley gave a typically honest and determined answer, stating, “You know me, I'll always give everything I have in every game and I just want to be playing. It’s taking some getting used to, I’m not going lie, but I am enjoying it.

“It does allow me to go forward and use my energy up the wing but defensively its good too, because I can always call the winger back to double up and help with the defending part!”
