Cork City manager John Caulfield has expressed caution ahead of tonight's huge trip to Tallaght Stadium to face Shamrock Rovers.
The Rebel Army could win the SSE Airtricity League title tonight with victory over Rovers and other results go their way as Dundalk face St. Patrick's Athletic at Oriel Park.
Cork lead the way in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division with 70 points whilst Dundalk sit on 53 points with just six games remaining in the league.
Caulfield's side have won the last three Premier Division games 1-0 and the Cork manager admitted the team have gone 'back to basics' in recent weeks.
Caulfield said: “At the end of the day, we are in control of what we have to do.
"We were back to basics against Finn Harps and we know Rovers will be a massive challenge, but it is all about us keeping our focus and concentrating on the game, which is what we have been working on all week.
"I felt the confidence has come back into the team after the Finn Harps game. It is important for the run-in that everyone is back on form and the win at Harps has lifted the team. We know Friday will be a different kind of game and we know how difficult it will be, so we know what we have to do.”
Cork last won the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division title in 2005 and the FAI Cup holders go into the game on the back of an impressive 7-0 victory over Athlone Town last week.
Caulfield is under no illusions how difficult it will be at Tallaght Stadium with the Rebel Army set to travel in numbers to the capital for tonight's game.
He added: “We know it will be difficult going up to Tallaght. We are in a great position; we have come from nowhere over the last few years and built a really strong squad with great players.
"We need two wins, we have a difficult run-in and we have to earn it in the right way. For me, it is about keeping our heads down and making sure that we can get the results over the next number of weeks.”
