15th April 1988: Padraig Amond was born on this day in Carlow. The former Shamrock Rovers striker currently plays for Newport County in League Two in England. He started his career with the Hoops and had a brief loan spell with Kildare County in 2007. He moved to Sligo Rovers in 2010 and helped fire Sligo to a cup double in the League Cup and FAI Cup. His form attracted the attention of Pacos de Ferreira in Portugal and has since played for Accrington Stanley, Morecambe, Grimsby Town, and Hartlepool United. He has scored over 150 goals in his career and has scored against notable opposition in FA Cup matches including against Tottenham Hotspur in a 1-1 draw in 2018 and the winner in a 2-1 victory over Leicester City last year. He was capped four times at Under-21 level.

15th April 1995: Alan Browne was born on this day in Cork. The current Republic of Ireland moved from Ringmahon Rangers to Cork City U-19s before he graduated to the senior squad. He never made a senior appearance for his hometown club as he was snapped up by Preston North End in 2014. Browne is still with the Lancashire club and has nine caps for the Republic of Ireland, scoring one goal which came in the 3-1 friendly win over Bulgaria. since making his debut in a 1-0 friendly match defeat against Turkey in Antalya on 23rd March 2018.
