14th June 1996: Ryan Manning was born on this day in Galway. He played his underage football with Cregmore/Claregalway and Maree/Oranmore before moving to Mervue United and then Galway FC with whom he won promotion to the Premier Division in 2014. He was transferred to Queen’s Park Rangers in January 2015 and has made 78 League appearances scoring five goals. He had a spell on loan with Rotherham United (scoring four goals in 18 appearances) last season. He has been capped for the Republic of Ireland at U17, U19 and U21 (8 caps, 2 goals) levels and was included in the senior squad for the matches against Northern Ireland and Denmark in November 2018.

14th June 2012: The Republic of Ireland’s second match at the UEFA EURO 2012 Finals ended in a 4-0 defeat to reigning champions Spain at the PGE Arena in Gdansk, Poland before an attendance of 39,150 spectators. Chelsea’s Fernando Torres (4,70), Manchester City’s David Silva (49) and Barcelona’s Cesc Fabergas (82) scored the goals for Vicente Del Bosque’s team.
