Sligo Rovers U19 manager Brian Dorrian was delighted to see his side get a home draw for the semi-final of the U19 Enda McGuill Cup.

Rovers have been handed a Showgrounds semi-final tie against UCD after their emphatic 3-0 victory over St. Patrick's Athletic in the quarter-finals.

In the other semi-final fixture, Bohemians or Cobh Ramblers will face either Drogheda United or Dundalk with those ties still set to be played.

With his side just one step away from the final, Dorrian is relishing the semi-final as Sligo continues their bid to claim the U19 Enda McGuill Cup.

Dorrian said: "I'm absolutely delighted to get the home draw. It will give the players a huge lift knowing they'll get to play the game at the Showgrounds.

"We'll obviously be playing one of the best teams in the competition but we've had a great season so far and the players have really progressed throughout the campaign.

"It was a great win against Pats. We've had some close games against them this year, pretty nip and tuck, so we knew it was going to be tough. We've got a lot of players who are a year younger this year so they acquitted themselves really well.

"We looked to try and force a few mistakes on their centre-halves and the boys did that really well and got the result they deserved."

Sligo have also enjoyed a fantastic run in the SSE Airtricity U19 Northern Elite Division where they're joint top heading into the weekend's game against Monaghan-Cavan.

Dorrian's side haven't suffered defeat in the league since May 7th but the U19 boss wants his side to be at their very best against the division's bottom side.

He continued: "We sat down at the start of the year with the players and we looked at where we think we should be at, and where we'd like to be.

"We wanted to be in the top four and to be fair, we've been in there pretty much all season and shown a great run of form of late.

"Being joint top is not too bad and we've got a massive game against Monaghan- Cavan this weekend where we need to keep up the run of results, and they'll want to make it a hard game."
