SSE Airtricity League Champions Dundalk will face APOEL (Cyprus) or Sutjeska (Montenegro) in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League if they progress. The Lilywhites face Azerbaijani side Qarabag in the second qualifying round of the competition, after beating Riga FC in the previous round. Dundalk host Qarabag on Wednesday, July 24 at Oriel Park and travel to Azerbaijan for the second leg on Wednesday, July 31. If they fail to progress in the UEFA Champions League, the Lilywhites will face either Slovan Bratislava (Slovakia) or Feronikeli (Kosovo) in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. Shamrock Rovers also found out their potential third qualifying round opponents, if they progress past Apollon Limassol in the UEFA Europa League. Stephen Bradley's side would face FK Austria Wien if they were to progress, with the first leg of the second qualifying round at Tallaght Stadium on Thursday, July 25 this week. In the SSE Airtricity League, St. Patrick's Athletic v Dundalk will now take place on Saturday, July 27, with kick-off at 5.30pm, having been originally scheduled for Friday, July 26.
