UCD manager Collie O’Neill said his team got the result they deserved as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Sligo Rovers.

Goals from David Cawley and Dante Leverock in the second-half secured the 2-0 win for Liam Buckley's Sligo at Belfield, and O'Neill said its a case of 'Deja-vu'.

O'Neill said: "We didn’t perform tonight at all. We were poor all over the park. A lot of tiredness out there, we just never got going. A lack of energy, a lack of enthusiasm.

"Corners have been a big issue, two again today. There’s never much between the sides, and then you concede with two corners.

‘Deja-vu... again!"

With four defeats on the spin, and away trips to come against the two clubs around them in the table, Finn Harps and Cork, O’Neill admits it’s a big challenge for him to lift his players.

‘It gets harder and harder, particularly getting into the exam time. A lot of them are studying into the small hours, and it’s hard to keep them focused on winning games, and keeping their mind fresh.

‘Harps is not must-win, but it’s must not lose.’
