Waterford have bolstered their squad for the second half of the 2017 season with the addition of experienced midfielder Paul Keegan.

The Dubliner won the Premier Division with both Drogheda United and Bohemians during his previous spell in the SSE Airtricity League before moving to Doncaster Rovers in England in 2011.

Keegan, 33, featured over 100 times for Doncaster before leaving the club this summer and he is now excited about being involved with Waterford.

“The challenge of Waterford excites me. Waterford are in a great position at the minute, sitting top of the table and looking to add a few players to make sure they keep winning games and keep doing well," said Keegan.

“Being away, I was always learning, always looking to add new things to my game but I’m still a similar player to what I was at Bohs and Drogheda. I like to get forward when I can but a lot of the time I look to sit in midfield, linking up play, organising and talking.”

Meanwhile, The Blues have confirmed that winger Kenny McEvoy has left the club by mutual consent.
