Galway United drew 1-1 with St Patrick's Athletic at Eamonn Deacy Park as the Corribsiders slipped into the bottom three again, while Liam Buckley's charges stay out of danger for now.

Eoin McCormack put the Tribesmen ahead in the 36th minute after he was played in by a terrific Ronan Murray assist, making no mistake from close range with a cool finish past Lukasz Skowron.

St Pat's pulled one back on the stroke of half time through Billy Dennehy after turning home Conan Byrne's cross from the far flank, catching the ball on the full to steer it past Conor Winn.

It was tit-for-tat after that as the sides exchanged blows - Shane Keegan's men had the better of the chances for much of the match thanks to Marc Ludden's deliveries - but Pat's plugged away too with opportunities from Michael Barker and Dennehy, among others.

In the end, it won't be the result either side would have preferred, but there are still a few games to decide it all as the Premier Division reaches an exciting climax.
