Cobh Ramblers manager Stephen Henderson is looking forward to 'the battle' with UCD this weekend.

Cobh suffered a 4-1 defeat to Cabinteely in the First Division last weekend as they lost top spot in the league to Waterford, who beat Wexford at home.

UCD sit in second spot in the First Division after their 2-0 win over Longford Town at the UCD Bowl on Saturday, two points ahead of Cobh in fourth position.

Henderson has praised his opposite number Collie O'Neill ahead of the weekend's game which could see Cobh claim top spot once again.

The Cobh boss said: "They have a pick of some of the best players in the country, so they're always going to be a good team.

"And Collie O'Neill is a great coach, he has them playing in a very effective way. So they're always going to be among the favourites.

"I enjoy playing UCD, I enjoy the battle with them."

Cabinteely overtook Cobh in the league after the weekend's defeat and Henderson is looking forward to seeing the players respond to the defeat.

He added: "So it's going to be a very good game, it's the perfect game for us after the defeat to Cabinteely. It's a chance for the players to stand up and be counted.

"And after a bad week, what better way to show people what we're really about by going out against one of the favourites and really performing at a high level."
