It has been a fairly productive off-season for Shane Keegan as his Galway United squad takes shape ahead of their return to the SSE Airtricity League First Division.

Youngster Conor Layng became the latest recruit to be unveiled by the club following on from the recent arrivals of Robbie Williams, Tadhg Ryan, Carlton Ubaezuono, and the return of former captain Ryan Connolly.

Keegan knows all about the second tier in the League from his days in the Wexford Youths dug-out, so it is hardly surprising that he has added a mixture of youth and experience.

The addition of Williams, who helped Cork City clinch the domestic double last term, is a major coup and he will be able to bring the best out in those around him.

While the loan signing of Ubaezuono from Dundalk suggests that The Tribesmen could play a high energy game that feeds the ball into their attackers earlier as he is a talented player who makes things happen going forward.

Galway drew 0-0 with Limerick in their opening pre-season game and will further look to integrate their new signings in the games against Sligo Rovers, Bohemians and Shelbourne.
