St. Pat's manager Harry Kenny was frustrated not to come home with all three points after his side drew 1-1 with Bohemians at Richmond Park on Friday night.

The home side went ahead late in the first half when Darragh Markey headed home Gary Shaw's cross. Goalkeeper Brendan Clarke saved a Dinny Corcoran penalty in the second half to keep the score at 1-0 only for Danny Mandroiu to equalise with a superbly-taken free kick.

"When we saved the penalty I thought it was going to be our night but it wasn't to be," Kenny said afterwards. "That's football. I thought they were better for the first 15 or 20 minutes but after that I thought we clawed our way back into it and deserved the goal. In the second half, they came out like a train and pinned us back a little bit but we were defending well."

Kenny couldn't hide his surprise at seeing the diminutive Markey score a header.

"Darragh's only two foot nothing!" he grinned. "I was just slagging him about it, I've never seen him score a header before but I was delighted that he took it and he had a decent game tonight."

Pat's next game will see them host Derry City on Tuesday night, just 11 days after the sides drew 1-1 at the Brandywell and Kenny is looking forward to the challenge.

"It was a decent game up there, Derry like to pass and play so it should make for a decent game again on Tuesday."
