The League of Ireland is delighted to announce the return of the ELOI on EA SPORTS™ FIFA 23 with the competition set to start on April 4, 2023 on esports tournament platform Challengermode.

Originally launched in 2021, the ELOI is a key programme created by the FAI to support the development of esports throughout the Republic of Ireland, in partnership with Epic Global, an Irish esport agency.

The ELOI features players from every Club in the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division and SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division, represented by an EA SPORTS esports player in a bid to secure one of two coveted spots in the EA SPORTS FIFA 23  Global Series Playins.

Running every Tuesday and Wednesday evening from April 4, the ELOI will bring a new audience to our League of Ireland Clubs through new digital platforms.

The ELOI will be streamed live on Twitch and YouTube, providing fans with an opportunity to follow their favourite teams and players throughout the tournament.

SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division players will play with their Club while SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division players will play with the Republic of Ireland team on EA SPORTS FIFA 23, using 95-rated mode, which allows for all teams’ in-game ratings to be the same.

Clubs have selected their players for the competition amongst some of the best players in Ireland.

The ELOI tournament will take place online and will culminate in a live final at the Aviva Stadium on May 16, 2023, with live competition, a live musical act and a DJ. More details on the live final and ticketing will be shared in the coming weeks.
