SSE Airtricity League Premier Division side Limerick have announced the capture of highly-rated defender Cian Coleman from First Division side Cobh Ramblers.
The former Cork City U19 defender moved to St. Colman's Park last season to get first-team experience after he shone for the Cork City U19 side in the UEFA Youth League campaign against HJK Helsinki and AS Roma.
Coleman made 23 league appearances for the Ramblers last season, scoring four goals for Stephen Henderson's side who finished second behind Champions Waterford.
Manager Neil McDonald praised the capture and has high hopes for the 20-year old defender. McDonald told limerickfc.ie: "I watched Cian in a couple of games in the past season, and in the Cup game against us, and I was impressed with some of the attributes he displayed in those performances.
“He has good pedigree. He went from Cork City to Cobh Ramblers to get more first-team football, he had a good season there, they finished second in the league and he played in nearly all of their games.
"He is a player with a lot of potential and we are looking forward to working with him.”
