Sean Maguire knows that the emotions will be bubbling inside him as he prepares for his final game as a Cork City player, but all that he is focused on is securing victory for his team.
The striker will appear in the UEFA Europa League clash with AEK Larnaca on Thursday before starting the next chapter in his career with Preston North End - along with club-mate Kevin O'Connor. Although, he has one more box to tick off.
Last Sunday, Maguire reached 20 goals in the SSE Airtricity League this season in the 2-0 win over Bray Wanderers. Now, he wants to help Cork progress into the next qualifying round in Europe.
"We won't fear them at all. We know that we can go out there and put on a show and beat them. Last week it was pretty even," said Maguire in reference to the 1-0 loss at home to their Cypriot opponents.
"Obviously it's going to be a hectic week ahead of us but there is no better way. Hopefully we help the club progress in the Europa League and then go into Preston and hit the ground running."
