St. Patrick's Athletic manager Harry Kenny remained positive despite his side being held to a 0-0 draw at home to Finn Harps on Monday night.

The result ended Pats' 100% start to the league campaign and Kenny was impressed with the away side's defensive display. "It was a very frustrating result particularly after our two good wins in the first two matches but looking at the way Finn Harps have performed in their own first two matches we knew they'd be dogged. We knew they'd chase down everything and it was up to us to break them down and we didn't.

Kenny felt that his side should have created more chances throughout the game but did praise his defence who kept their third clean sheet in as many league games this season.

"I'm very pleased about the clean sheets but it's just about trying to score a few extra goals. We didn't create as many chances as I would have liked particularly with the number of flair players we have. We created chances but they weren't clear-cut. That's football and we just have to try and move on to the next one."

Given the large turnover of players throughout the winter, Kenny is satisfied with how things are going so far.

"There's something like eight or nine players after coming in and nine or ten players going out. That's a huge transition to try and get a settled team. We've worked a fair bit on it over pre-season but it's a big turnaround so it's just a matter of trying to get a few results and working on systems."

Looking ahead to the next match, Kenny is hoping Pats will avoid becoming the team to drop points to UCD this season when the teams clash at the UCD Bowl on Friday night.

"It'll be a tough game. You don't get too much out there lightly. We don't want to be the first. If we were to win there and get ten points out of twelve it's a great return."
