Bohemians welcome Derry City to Dublin as both sides look to start the season with a positive result.

Bohemians manager Keith Long said: “We can’t wait to get started. It’s been another long off-season so we’re all eager to get out there now.

“It’s the first day of the season, so we know we’ll have a big home support.

“It’s potentially the club’s last year in Dalymount, so we hope people will come and support us.”

“We’ve a lot of new faces and it’s important they try and get off to a good start.

“We want the supporters on our side from day one so we have to give them something to shout about and put in a good performance.”

Team News: Eoin Wearen (Injury). New Additions Oscar Brennan, Jamie Doyle, Philip Gannon, Georgie Poynton, Kaleem Simon and Fuad Sule all available for selection

Derry City midfielder Barry McDermott said: "I am hoping to start every game and hope to keep the performances up like last season.  I want to keep my place in the team.

"You have to keep on performing to improve.  European football will be a lot more tactical and a lot better than what we are used to, depending on how we get in the draw”

"We think we exceeded expectations last season, the manager is looking for top four and maybe even get a bit of silverware.

"It is a tough place to go.  We played them four times last season and beat them four times, but each time it was a difficult game, a 1-0 or 2-0."
