Currently in last position and four points off their nearest rivals, Galway can't afford to fall any further behind at this early stage of the season. They have only picked up two points from a possible twelve on the road this year.

Limerick have started their campaign well, having won three of their last four games including a 1-0 away victory against the impressive Bray Wanderers.

WHAT THEY SAID

Galway United manager Shane Keegan said: “Given the form that Limerick are in, and how they played against Drogheda United, outside of Cork City and Dundalk, they’re probably the toughest test around at the moment.

“We’re going down there with every belief that we can go and get the win.

“There is brilliant competition for places, on Friday against St. Patrick’s Athletic and Derry City on Monday, it was two games we gave a good account of ourselves.”
