Limerick will host Shamrock Rovers at Markets Field on Tuesday night with both sides returning to league action following their FAI Cup exploits during the weekend.
Limerick hosted first division side Cobh Ramblers where goals from Lee Lynch and Chris Mulhall saw them progress. Rovers also advanced thanks to a hard-fought win over Leinster Senior League side Glenville.
Both sides league form has been poor as of late, with Rovers suffering two defeats from their last two at the hands of Bohemians and Derry City.
The Hoops have Bray Wanderers and their fierce rivals Bohemians breathing down their neck, with two points separating the three teams. Stephen Bradley's men do however have a game in hand.
The Super Blues are without a win in four, having suffered two 3-0 drubbings against Derry City and most recently Dundalk. They sit in seventh in the league standings, but only four points separate them from Sligo Rovers in eleventh.
