Ahead of the new SSE Airtricity League 2017 season, we caught up with Bohemians striker Dinny Corcoran to see what he thinks ahead of the new campaign.
Q: Dinny, you moved from St. Patrick's Athletic to Bohemians in the off-season, what inspired the move?
DINNY: I didn't play much at all at Pats. It was difficult for me at times as you want to be playing as much as possible. I only started two league games so it was really frustrating. I'm not getting any younger so you've got to be on the pitch. Bohemians has a special place in my heart, I was there a few years ago and I've always been looking to go back so when the opportunity came along, it was an easy decision to make. It's brilliant to be back there and if I can start the way I finished there, I'll be happy.
Q: It's going to be a tough league, most teams looking to kick on, what do you think Bohemians can achieve this year?
DINNY: It's going to be very tough, every team is getting more competitive so there'll be no easy games. I think a top-half finish would be great for us considering how tough the league is. We don't want to be down by the bottom three at all so we'd take a top-half finish and a good cup run.
Q: Ismahil Akinade re-signed at the club so you must be looking forward to teaming up with him up front?
DINNY: Looking forward to it, the manager spoke to me a lot about him before I signed. He wants us to work hard together and form a partnership up front. Seeing him in training, he's got great attributes so I think we can complement each other really well. But, the whole squad is coming together with plenty of new faces. Ahead of the start of the season, I'm sure we'll have nailed down the shape we're going to play with for the season and I'm really positive about the season.
