Bohemians ended their domestic campaign on a relative high, putting in yet another excellent performance against the Champions Dundalk and on another night would have taken all three points. Stalwart defender Dan Casey was in reflective mood following a superb second half of the season and on tonight’s draw.  “Yeah it was another good performance tonight, it was a great battle and let’s be honest, they are the best team in the country but I feel we matched them, if not out played them at times. We missed three or four big chances that probably would have put the game to bed. “Overall though, our second half of the season was excellent we showed we can play at the highest level but we still have that feeling of disappointment not making it to the Cup Final. “ On battling one of the leagues best players, Pat Hoban, who unfortunately left the ground on crutches and with a major strapping on his ankle, it was obvious the combative centre half relished the occasion against the leagues top scorer.  “I really enjoyed it, you always want to test yourself against the best, and he has showed this season he’s right up there with the amount of goals he has scored.  "I felt we, as a defence played well tonight, and did a good job of keeping him quiet, but to concede from the corner is tough to take because we’re usually a lot more solid from set pieces.” It was a tale to two seasons for Bohs in a way, struggling to hit the net and get results maybe some of their play deserved in the first half of the season, compared to the free flowing football of the second, and the ex-Sunderland man was at a loss to explain why, going on to add, ”I’m not really sure what changed, the talent was there but maybe it’s a mentality thing.  "We play best when we’re up against it and things are against us, but thankfully we got it right in the second half and part of me thinks the end of the season has come too quick!” Shane Supple picked up the player of the season award and fan favourite Casey was quick to praise his skipper’s contribution.  “He’s been outstanding all season and thoroughly deserved the award. For me, he’s the best in the league and backed it up by making it to a full Ireland squad so delighted he’s with us.  "But who knows maybe next year I might get my hands on it! But in all seriousness, its an exciting time at the club, the gaffer (Keith Long) has re-signed for three years, we have brilliant young players coming through and a real buzz going, so I’m already looking forward to next season.”  He said excitedly at the prospect of what’s to come at the Phibsboro club.
