Longford came from behind twice to deny Roddy Collins his first win as Athlone Town manager this season.
Conor Barry opened the scoring on 10 minutes, after a delightful free kick from Niall Scullion on the right found Barry at the back post.
Longford replied with only three minutes to go to the break, a long ball forward found Jake Kelly on his own on the edge of the area and he lobbed the ball over the on rushing Igor Labuts.
Athlone played well in the second half and took the lead again, this time through Ethan Keogh. David Brookes' ball in from the left found Keogh who had a free header to make it 2-1. Longford weren't done and dusted just yet.
In the 87th minute, Cody Mulhall found Enda Curran with a nice through ball and his shot went under Labuts body. A draw was probably a fair result.
