Spoils shared in the race for the European spots as an injury hit Bohs side played out a 0-0 against an impressive Derry City side.

Both sides came into tonights epic encounter on a high following huge victories on Friday and showed their attacking intent from the off, in a hugely entertaining and open encounter in the Dalymount sunshine.

The visitors, six points behind Bohs at the start of play, went closest early on when the busy Ciaran Harkin had James Talbot scrambling across his goal with an effort from 25 yards out.

Declan Devine’s men continued to stroke the ball around neatly and thought they had taken the lead when the in-form Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe cut inside from the left wing and reversed his shot back towards the near post as Talbot stood and watched it go narrowly wide.

The Gypsies', minus star man Danny Mandroiu with a slight calf strain, responded well. Keith Ward began to look a threat going close with a couple of efforts from distance.

The second half followed much of the same pattern of the first, Ward looking the most threatening for the home side volleying just over after the restart. The excellent Barry McNamee had the biggest chance of the second half, winning the ball back from skipper for the evening Darragh Leahy inside his own box.

Just as he looked to square to David Parkhouse for a tap in, out flew Talbot to smother the danger. The Bohs stopper wasn’t done there, just moments later producing an incredible double save, first to deny Parkhouse who was put clean through by McNamee, then to deny Junior on the follow up.

Ward went close again late on but just wasn't to be. With such a quick turn around from Friday night both teams would probably be happy with a point each on reflection.
