Substitute Ciaran Kilduff came off the bench to snatch an 88th minute winner in a very evenly contested game at a packed Dalymount Park.

A high energy and entertaining first half, despite little goal mouth action, flew by and it was the home side who worked the best openings with Keith Ward and Dinny Corcoran electing to find a pass when a shooting chance arose around the Dundalk box.

New signing Dylan Connolly, who had previously made one first team appearance for the hosts, went straight into the Dundalk starting 11 following his move from Bray. But the big money signing had quite a subdued first half on the left wing as his side began to control possession. Dinny Corcoran saw his looping header sail just over Gary Rogers bar, following some brilliant work from the impressive Keith Ward on the right flank, as the home fans sensed an opportunity for three points.

But it was the reigning Champions who went closest to steal it when Shane Supple made one of the saves of the season to deny centre half Niclas Vemmelund. The big defender rose highest from and outswinging corner but his downward header was well tipped over from the out stretched Bohs stopper.

Substitute Ciaran Kiduff broke Bohs hearts in the 88th minute when fellow substitue Michael Duffy stood up a dinked cross and the big man rose highest to nod in the winner
