Shamrock Rovers sealed an injury-time victory in the Dublin Derby thanks to Aaron Greene's winner against 10-men Bohemians.

Greene's close-range finish in the 93rd minute secured the points for Rovers as Andy Lyons saw red in the second-half for two bookable offences in difficult Storm Dennis conditions at Dalymount Park.

Rovers dominated the opening stages of the game and almost took the lead with a quarter of an hour on the clock as Greene's left-footed strike flew narrowly over James Talbot's crossbar.

The away side continued to dominate the ball but Bohemians had their first real chance in the 26th minute. Kris Twardek, who signed for the club in the off-season from Sligo Rovers, found space but Roberto Lopes did well to block his effort.

Keith Ward saw a long-range free-kick parried away by Alan Mannus eight minutes before the break but Rovers should have took the lead in the final minute of the half.

Greene received the ball from Jack Byrne on the left and his fantastic cross picked out Ronan Finn at the back-post but he lost the ball in it's flight and mis-kicked wide.

Seconds into the second-half, Bohemians had a fantastic chance to take the lead themselves. It was Twardek again with the chance from an acute right angle but he flashed his effort across goal and wide.

Bohemians were reduced to ten men with 25 minutes remaining as Lyons received his second booking of the game and both managers made a number of substitutions to try and find the winner.

Late Rovers pressure almost saw a winner materialise in the 87th minute as Talbot misjudged a corner and Anto Breslin was on the line to clear.

With one minute left in stoppage time, Rovers won it. Aaron McEneff's shot was too powerful for Talbot and Greene was on hand to slot home the rebound to secure a opening day victory for Stephen Bradley's side in the Dublin Derby.
