The visitors came flying out of the traps heaping pressure on the hosts and had a glorious chance to take the lead after just four minutes. After failing to deal with the initial corner, resulting in a goal mouth scramble, the ball finally found it

Bohemians defeated St Patrick's Athletic 1-0 in an entertaining affair at Dalymount Park.

St. Pat's were dominant in the first half but they still went into the break 1-0 down after Kevin Devaney cut inside from the left on 39 minutes and unleashed a screamer into the top corner from 35 yards out.

After a quiet opening 15, Ryan Brennan had two great chances in two minutes to give Pats the lead. However, the first was gathered easily by Shane Supple at his bottom-left post, and the second drifted agonisingly wide of the same woodwork.

Jamie Lennon then had a long-range strike for the visitors tipped away from the top corner, before Conan Byrne also an effort denied prior to Devaney's screamer. Chances were a lot harder for Pats to come by in the second half with changes from Keith Long making the home team a much more solid looking proposition.

Pats still had chances but they were far less clear-cut and Bohs were able to hit them on the break as the visitors went in search of an equaliser. As it was, however, a single goal separated the two sides...and what a worthy goal it was!!
