Wexford came out on top in Stradbrook on a 2-1 scoreline and worked very hard for their three points finding their winner in the last five minutes of the game.

It was all Cabinteely in the opening half with two early chances from Waters and Earley going close but nothing to really trouble Chambers in the goal Wexford were really struggling to hold onto the ball at all as Cabinteely pressed for the opener all through the first half Aaron Dobbs had the away sides best chance of the first half and it came after thirty five minutes.

The striker found himself with space in front of goal and unleashed a powerful shot towards goal but McGuiness was able to palm it away for a corner. Marty Waters had a glorious chance in the dying moments of the first half with a point blank header getting on the end of a Dean Casey cross but he somehow cleared the crossbar by millimetres.

Cabinteely took the lead in the second half after just five minutes. Waters was bundled over in the box and Conor Keeley stepped up and calmly slotted the ball to the keepers right and put the home side 1-0 to the good.

Once the goal came though, Cabinteely completely took their foot off the gas and allowed Wexford to create chances with the space they were being given. Super Sub Mark Slater was only on the field a number of minutes and he had Wexford back on level terms with a guided header, a goal they more than deserved with their improved second-half showing.

Doyle was played through on goal and as Chambers got closer he chipped the ball up over the goalie but the ball crashed off the crossbar and out for a goal-kick. With five minutes to go, Wexford took the lead for the first time in the game through Dean Kelly.

A mix up at the back for Cabinteely allowed Kelly to nick the ball into space and finish calmly past McGuiness to give Wexford all three points on a very dissapointing night for Cabinteely.
