History was made at Stradbrook as Cabinteely went top of the First Division charts for the first-time ever.

Rob Manley took his tally to nine goals this season as the home team came from 1-0 down at the interval to claim their third successive victory.

Manley scrambled the ball over the line in 85th minute after Conor Keeley had got on the end of a Keith Dalton cross. Manley had drawn his side level in the 61st minute with a follow-up header off Jack Watson’s cross shot.

Two minutes later, Dalton fired in a fantastic 25-yarder to make it 2-1. But Kealan Dillon’s effort in off the post tied the game at 2-2 in the 70th minute. Cabo had all the chances in the opening period. But the Midlanders led at the interval.

Keeley was denied by a combination of Kaleem Strawbridge-Simon and goalkeeper Garmondeh Ta-Uway on the goal-line after 13 minutes while Manley’s glanced header dripped just wide on the half hour.

The ‘Town took the lead in the 40th minute. A cross from the right-wing wasn’t dealt with by the hosts. And Shane Dunne placed a 16-yard left-footed shot to the top-left corner of the net.
