Bohemian's ended Cork City's unbeaten season with a hard fought 1-0 victory at Turner's Cross on Monday evening.

Cork City began the match looking to dictate the tempo and saw an early chance for Keohane blocked in the box. Bohs were forced into an early change after Warren O' Hora suffered an injury and had to be stretchered off.

Sheppard was a constant threat to the Bohemian's defence throughout the half and saw numerous chances saved by Supple, in particular a header in the 32nd minute that looked destined for the top corner.

For all the possession it was Bohs who had the best two chances of the half. First, McCarthy lost the ball under pressure to O' Connor who found himself through but his shot was well saved by McNulty. Similarly in the 42nd minute, Akinade fortuitously found himself in on goal after a Cork clearance was blocked. He beat a defender to get into the box but his shot was too close to McNulty who saved low to his left.

It was Bohemian's who raced out of the blocks in the second half and came close from a Poynton effort and a Ward free kick.

The better start was rewarded in the 62nd minute when Akinade beat McCarthy to the ball in the box and was tripped by the defender. Poynton confidently dispatched the ball to the net from the penalty to give Bohs the lead.

The expected response from Cork failed to materialise and a resolute Bohs defence held out to take a deserved three points back to Dublin and end City's unbeaten season in the process.
