Waterford secured their first win of the new SSE Airtricity League Premier Division campaign as they defeated Cork City 2-0 at Turner's Cross on Friday evening.
The visitors dominated for long spells and after Scott Twine missed a glorious opportunity in the 10th minute, they finally took the lead in injury time when Bastien Hery found the far bottom right corner from just inside the box.
City almost snatched an equaliser late on but Karl Sheppard saw his goalbound effort cleared off the line by the recovering Rory Feely.
But Waterford deserved the victory and they sealed their first win here since 2011 in injury time as Hery released Zak Elbouzedi and he emphatically drilled his shot into the roof of the net.
